Community

The SCCC takes an active part and is committed to establishing long lasting relationships within our community.  Our community activities are directed toward helping support local philanthropic organizations; helping families and children in our county; and providing scholarships for Clay County students.  Our community activies include:

Scholarships

The club awards a minimum of three $750 scholarships from the Leonard Voyles Scholarship Fund each year.  These scholarships are available to qualified students from Clay County or any high school senior, or equivalent thereof, who wish to attend FSU in the Fall term.

Applications are available at any Clay County High School Counselors Office, online at www.alumni.fsu.edu or can be downloaded below.  Applications should be mailed directly to the FSU Alumni Association as specified in the application.

Take Stock in Children

Take Stock in Children is a comprehensive program that helps low-income children stay in school, earn a high school diploma, graduate from college and enter the work force.  Take Stock in Children of Clay County will use money raised by the club to purchase scholarships and provide direct mentoring services to Clay County students.

For more information on Take Stock in Children visit www.takestockinchildren.com.

Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign

As one of our Community Service Projects, our members join in a friendly competition with the local Gator Club by ringing the bell and collecting donations for the Salvation Army on the weekends leading up to Christmas.  All monies donated go to Salvation Army progams.

Quigley House

The Quigley House offers safe emergency shelter and support services for women and their children.  The club provides monetary gifts and holds several donation drives to provide personal items needed by these women and their children.

Adopt A Family

Every Christmas the club helps four local families by providing a Christmas dinner and presents for the children.  Proceeds from the "50/50" Raffle sales are used to purchase gifts and the food comes from local merchants and member donations.
